COVID updates for Friday, Aug. 20

Twenty-five new COVID cases were reported in Beltrami County Thursday.

Beltrami County remains in high COVID transmission, and the CDC recommends masking while indoors regardless of vaccination status.

Beltrami County’s vaccination rate is slowly increasing, with 67 percent of the population 12 and older at least receiving one dose of a COVID vaccine, with 56 percent fully vaccinated.

Nearly 47 percent of the entire county population has received both doses.

MDH reported one new COVID death in Clearwater County, a resident in their late 60s, as well as one new case. Eleven new cases were reported in Cass County, five new cases in Hubbard County.

Test positive rates are around six percent for Beltrami, Cass and Hubbard counties, with Clearwater County around eight percent.

Statewide, 1,355 new cases and eight new deaths were reported Thursday.
