COVID updates for Wednesday, Sept. 29

Minnesota has now reached 700,000 COVID infections as another 6,200 new cases were reported Tuesday.

The Minnesota Department of Health’s Tuesday report includes completed tests over the weekend, as well on Monday.

Of all cases reported Tuesday, 110 were in Beltrami County, 66 were in Cass County, 44 were in Clearwater County, and 27 were in Hubbard County.

MDH reported 2,077 new COVID cases Wednesday and 31 new deaths.

One of Wednesday’s reported deaths was a Cass County resident in their late 70s.

Of all cases reported Wednesday, 34 were in Beltrami County, 16 were in Cass County, eight were in Clearwater County and 17 were in Hubbard County.

Beltrami County’s Public Health Director Megan Heuer reports that as of this morning, the county was monitoring 346 active cases.

Sixteen patients are being treated for COVID within local hospitals, with six of those patients being Beltrami County residents.

Since the pandemic began, Beltrami County has had 5,522 cases and 72 deaths, Cass County has had 3,653 cases and 39 deaths, Clearwater County has had 1,168 cases and 18 deaths, and Hubbard County has had 2,493 cases and 41 deaths.
