BEMIDJI– Charges were brought forth against 54-year-old Daniel Linde of Cass Lake for his role in a homicide that took place just north of Bemidji this past winter.

According to the criminal complaint, 45-year-old Darren Stebe of Bemidji, enticed Jason McDonough of Superior and Adam Thorpe of Maple Grove to bring a “significant amount of methamphetamine” to his mobile home on Highway 89, and shot both of them in his garage on or around Jan. 28.

Stebe, in text messages between himself and his girlfriend, 31-year-old Kristi Trisco of Bemidji, indicated that the victims needed to be quartered.

Linde, who was living with Trisco and Stebe at the time along with his girlfriend, allegedly assisted Stebe with building a burn pit and bringing the bodies to the pit.

He was charged yesterday for aiding an offender after the fact, as an accessory to murder.

Stebe allegedly took $5,000 from the victims, and he and Trisco spent or gambled that money in and around Beltrami County. Arraignments for Trisco and Stebe are anticipated to come in the next few days.
