Dead body recovered from Lake Bemidji

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office says the body of an unnamed male was removed from Lake Bemidji Wednesday.

According to a release, a DNR biologist was working in the lake when he reported a male floating near Lake Boulevard NE on the southwest shore of Lake Bemidji.

Deputies responded around noon and recovered the body.

The Sheriff’s Office said the man suffered no obvious signs of trauma, and a number of personal items were found on a nearby shore.

The body was transported to the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office for identification and an autopsy.
