Detroit Lakes man sentenced to seven years for armed robbery

A Detroit Lakes man was sentenced to 84 months in a federal prison for the armed robbery of a White Earth convenience store.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 34-year-old Levi Jerome entered the convenience store on the White Earth Indian Reservation in November 2020, armed with an American Tactical Imports, Omni Hybrid, multi-caliber rifle.

Court documents say Jerome pointed the rifle at the store clerk and demanded she open the register.

Jerome stole about $2,250 in cash from the register and from a nearby drawer before fleeing the store.

Jerome pleaded guilty to one count of robbery in November 2021.

Following his prison sentence, Jerome will spend three years on supervised release.

The ATF Bureau, FBI Headwaters Safe Trails Task Force, the Minnesota BCA, the White Earth Police Department, Becker County Sheriff’s Office, West Central and Paul Bunyan Drug Task Forces, and the Devils Lake (North Dakota) Police Department assisted with the investigation.
