An aggressive dog was euthanized after being shot by a deputy in Hubbard County Saturday.
According to a release, the deputy went to a residence southeast of Park Rapids in an attempt to serve two restraining orders.
After leaving his squad, two large dogs aggressively approached him in the driveway.
One dog was tased after attempting to bite the officer. The second dog was able to pull the Taser out of the officer’s hands.
The second dog bit the deputy, causing a severe hand wound, before the deputy fired his weapon.
The dog ultimately had to be euthanized by an area vet, and the deputy was treated for his injuries at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
