Drowning at Clearwater Dam

An 18-year-old woman drowned at the Clearwater Dam yesterday afternoon.

According to the release from the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office, a group of children were swimming in the river near the dam when some were caught in the turbulent water, which had higher levels than usual due to the heavy rains.

According to the report, the 18-year-old rescued several children from the water before going under herself, and was underwater for about 10 minutes before being pulled out.

An eight-year-old girl was resuscitated with CPR.

Sanford Life Flight and Clearbrook Fire assisted at the scene.

The victim was identified as Raina Lynn Neeland of Bagley.

The family of Raina has established a GoFundMe to cover funeral costs.
