Event permit approvals for big summer events expected ahead of Monday’s City Council meeting

The Bemidji City Council will have a fairly light regular agenda this Monday, but a number of permit approvals on the consent agenda are a sure sign of a more lively summer this year.

Site or event permits are expected to be approved for the Bemidji Jaycees Water Carnival, Lake Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival, the Knights of Columbus Walleye Classic, Mississippi Music Festival, and 3rd Street Festival.

The consent agenda also includes alcohol permits for the Dragon Boat Festival and the Walleye Classic.

Another alcohol permit will be discussed for the Mississippi Music weekly events.

The council will also hold the first reading of an ordinance amending the city code concerning firearms, bows, and hunting.
