The second round of artist relief grants from the Region 2 Arts Council is now closed. The application period opened Aug. 31 at 8 a.m. but due to the large volume of applications, the granting criteria has been met and the funding has run out. The $500 grant was for artists who rely on the creation of art to generate income, which was impacted by COVID-19.
Region 2 Arts Council informs the public that, at this point, all funds for Round 1 of the Artist Relief Grant have been disbursed and this round is now closed. Any eligible artist with interest in applying is encouraged to apply once grant applications open for Round 2, which begins August 31.
Region 2 Arts Council staff are well aware that the financial need among artists at this time is great, attested by the outpouring of applications received within the first few hours that applications opened for Round 1. Artists greatly contribute to the region’s economic and cultural vibrancy of our region. Any person or business interested in donating toward the Artist Relief Grant program can mail a check (made payable to “Region 2 Arts Council”) to: P.O. Box 693, Bemidji MN, 56619. Region 2 Arts Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to strengthening the presence of the arts by supporting opportunities for arts creation, promotion, and education for the people of Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, and Mahnomen counties.
The Artist Relief Grant is open to artists* in our 5-County Region whose anticipated arts income has been impacted due to COVID-19. All eligible artists must rely on the creation of art to generate income, and have no overdue final reports with Region 2 Arts Council.
Award Amount: $500.00
Applications for Round 2 open August 31 and close September 15, or as soon as funds are disbursed. To apply online, create a login at r2arts.org. Beginning August 31, complete and submit a relief grant application. Applications may also be downloaded at r2arts.org and submitted by mail beginning that same day.
