Beltrami County Historical Society reminds community members that the Beltrami County Women in Winter Sports exhibit is open through April 9 at the History Center at 130 Minnesota Ave. SW, Bemidji.
In celebration of this exhibit and our local curling athletes, the Historical Society is proud to partner with Lakeland PBS to offer a screening of the documentary Curling Minnesota: Bemidji on Wednesday, March 23, at 2:00 pm at the History Center.
This documentary explores the history and tradition of this unique sport in northern Minnesota and the impact it has had on the Bemidji area. Join us after the screening to explore the Women in Winter Sports exhibit on display in the History Center’s East Gallery. This program is made possible by the Minnesota Legacy Amendment, George W. Neilson Foundation, and members of Lakeland PBS. Registration is FREE and encouraged; seating is limited to 20 participants.
On Friday, March 25, at 6:00 pm, the Historical Society and Bemidji Curling Club invite you to a Curling Open House and Exhibition at Bemidji Curling Club, 1239 23rd St, NW, Bemidji. Meet Olympic and World Champion Curlers Jamie Johnson Haskell, Kari Liapis Erickson, and Teresa Bahr Trepanier! You’ll have the opportunity to try curling, and watch curling demonstrations. Grab an autograph and stay for door prizes! Donations will be accepted to benefit the Historical Society and Bemidji Junior Curlers.
