Bemidji State University is re-opening Scrubs Camp in person for area high school students this summer (6/21-6/23). Canceled due to COVID in 2020, this long-standing summer camp will return to BSU for its 7th year. It has become a gateway for high school students to peer into health-related majors such as nursing and dental hygiene.
Scrubs Camp is for high school students grade 9 through 12, who have a desire to learn about health care careers and educational paths. This year, the camp will not be a residential experience, those in the greater Bemidji region are especially encouraged to attend. The program will be packed with activities such as Certified Nursing Assistants Skills lab, Head-to-toe Skills lab, career insights with BSU faculty and working professionals, behind-the-scenes tour of Sanford Cancer Center, Labor and Delivery, and Orthodontic and Catheterization laboratories. Activities are hands-on, dynamic, and fast-paced:
Early Bird Registration ($225) ends on May 25th, and the camp must have minimum of 10 participants to run. Fee includes instructional costs, lunches, scrub top and lifelong memories. Scrubs camp offers need-based scholarships through the Minnesota Office of High Education and BSU and are allocated based on first come basis. So don’t wait; sign up today! This program is offered with COVID protocol in place and is capped at 15 students. Regular registration ($250) ends by June 7 or until filled!
