Headwaters Open Mic and CoffeeHouse is once again scheduled for June 3 at 7pm. Held in downtown Bemidji at Headwaters Music & Arts, this monthly community gathering offers a friendly open mic opportunity and welcoming environment for folks to listen and perform. The event will be taking a break over the summer so join local artists and featured artist, Lisa Dixon, to bid it adieu for the warm month. Sign-up begins at 6:30 or by email to jjhgaard@gmail.com.
Lisa Dixon is a local songwriter and musician originally from Warroad, MN. She fell in love with music at a young age, taking piano and flute lessons before picking up a guitar as a young teen. She’s played at many coffee shops, pubs, and festivals around Minnesota over the years while getting her degree in Journalism in Duluth, working at a fishing resort at the Northwest Angle, and teaching music at a studio in Rochester before finally settling down with her family here in Bemidji.
