Organizations in Bemidji and surrounding communities serving people experiencing hunger and homelessness have partnered to educate the public about local efforts taking place to address the issues of hunger and homelessness.
November 15-22, 2020 is National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. The public is invited to visit the Bemidji Hunger and Homeless Awareness Facebook page for a list of events and ways to get involved: https://www.facebook.com/BemidjiHAHAW.
The weeks activities include a virtual movie screening of Some Kind of Different As Me, an online silent auction, and you can purchase a to-go dinner from the Turtle River Chophouse.
All proceeds from the silent auction and a portion of the proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Bemidji Hunger and Homeless Awareness partners: Evergreen Youth and Family Services, Village of Hope, ISD 31 McKinney-Vento Program, Bemidji Area Food Shelf, Churches United, St. Vincent De Paul, and BiCAP.
