Join Delores Fortuna at Watermark Art Center for an active dialog around journeys with clay on Saturday November 4. Participants will learn about working with porcelain clay from preparation and handling of the clay, to strategies used for throwing different forms, assembly and finish work. Discussions on surface considerations and how glaze decisions are incorporated into the making process to the firing process are included.
This is a presentation workshop with Fortuna throwing in the morning followed by construction and finish techniques in the afternoon after a break for lunch. During lunch, Fortuna will present a talk on her work past and present, her influences and solutions to problems as an artist develops a new body of work.
