Face coverings required for Walmart shoppers Monday

Walmart stores across the country will soon require the use of masks while inside.

According to a release, the requirement for shoppers will begin Monday, July 20.

Walmart plans to post signage and have what they call health ambassadors in black polo shirts assist customers who arrive without a face covering.

Bemidji’s Walmart store is one of the busiest in the country, but management there was not immediately available for comment.

Walmart’s head office says they are issuing the requirement to ensure consistency at all Walmart stores, as 65 percent of their stores are in areas where there is some form of government mandate on face coverings.
