First delivery of the COVID-19 vaccine arrives at Sanford Bemidji

Assistant News Director Kev Jackson visited over the phone with Dr. Colleen Swank, Sanford’s VP of Clinics and pediatrician, on the vaccine shipment that arrived today.

Three hubs so far have received it, and Bemidji was one of them, with 975 doses. More will arrive before the end of the week.

Health care workers and staff and residents of nursing homes will be among the first to receive it.

The vaccine will need to be stored at subzero temps, as low as -70 Celsius.
