Five injured, one seriously, in Hubbard County crash

Five were injured, one with life-threatening injuries. in a crash Sunday afternoon south of Park Rapids.

The state patrol says three vehicles were involved, resulting in a head-on crash.

A Toyota SUV was northbound on Highway 71, while a Chevy Impala was waiting to make a left turn from the southbound lane of 71.

A southbound minivan at a high rate of speed struck the Impala, which caused it to move into the northbound lane, striking the Toyota head-on.

A passenger in the minivan was sent to St. Joseph’s for non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Impala also went to St. Joseph’s for non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the Toyota was taken to Sanford Fargo for life-threatening injuries.

The adult male driver and a juvenile male passenger of the Toyota were both treated at St. Joseph’s.

Alcohol is not a listed factor in the crash and all were wearing their seat belts.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, Park Rapids Police Department, and Park Rapids Fire Department assisted at the scene.
