The DNR will offer free admission to all 75 state park and recreation areas this Saturday.
This “Free Park Day” falls on National Get Outdoors Day as well as “Take a Kid Fishing” weekend, where Minnesota residents can fish without a license as long as they have youth under the age of 16 along.
The goal of Free Park Days is to get all Minnesotans outdoors, with research showing time spent outdoors can improve health and wellness.
The admission waiver is for vehicle entrance fees, not activities like camping, rentals or tours.
