Gonvick teen treated for serious injuries after being hit on bicycle

A Gonvick bicyclist was struck last week in Polk County.

According to a the Minnesota State Patrol, 16-year-old Warren Thompson of Gonvick was eastbound on Highway 92, and was struck by a Buick LeSabre while the driver, 78-year-old James Hutchinson of Thief River Falls, came over a small hill on Wednesday, July 1.

Thompson was transported to the Sanford Medical Center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.

The occupants of the Buick were uninjured. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
