Grant Valley Township home damaged in fire

Twenty-one firefighters responded to the 2300 block of Buchanan Ave. SW Monday evening to fight a house fire.

Bemidji Fire Chief Justin Sherwood says his department was called to the scene around 6 p.m. and battled the blaze for about two hours.

No injuries were reported and the home and its contents suffered moderate damage.

The fire appears to be caused by an electrical issue. Upon arrival, smoke and fire were visible from the structure’s roof.

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, Bemidji Ambulance Service and Beltrami Electric assisted at the scene.
