The Bemidji City Council’s first regular in-person meeting this Tuesday will cover a heavy agenda.
Under new business, the council will consider establishing a police advisory committee, an extended partnership agreement with the Bemidji Community Arena, a request to extend municipal services and annexation for Ruttger’s Birchmont Lodge, and discuss the expiration of Gov. Tim Walz’s peacetime emergency order as well as the local emergency order.
Locally, the end of the peacetime state of emergency could have ramifications for restaurants downtown, as the permitting of alcoholic beverages on public parking spaces was dependant on the emergency order.
The public hearing on the firearm’s ordinance amendments will also be held Tuesday evening.
The meeting will follow an open house of the newly remodeled Council Chambers from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m.
