The Sanford POWER with the Pros hockey clinic included professional hockey players Matt Cullen and Gigi Marvin.
The clinic focused on strength and conditioning training for budding hockey players.
Marvin spoke on how challenging gender perceptions are in athletics, and had some advice for young girls with athletic aspirations.
Sanford Bemidji’s Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Director Brad Neis said the clinic gave Sanford the opportunity to invest in community wellness, and that the partnership with Bemidji Community Arena is just the start.
A potential plan has been discussed to build the Wellness Center, with a staggered $10 million gift from the health network, on the Rail Corridor site.
