Inaugural youth deer hunt a success

Nearly 5,700 youth deer hunters harvested a deer during the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ inaugural statewide youth deer season held earlier this month.

Previously, youth deer hunting season had been held in various regions in southeastern and northwestern Minnesota, with limited participation.

The DNR says participation is up 77 percent from last year when the hunt was limited to fewer areas.
