Iowa woman injured in Cass County Crash

By: News Director Larissa Donovan

WALKER– An Iowa woman was injured after she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel on Highway 371.

According to the state patrol, 66-year-old Debra Lynn Swartz of Adel, Iowa, was northbound on Highway 371 just after midnight last night in Shingobee Township when she left the roadway and struck a tree.

She stated that she thought she fell asleep. Swartz was treated for her non-life threatening injuries at Sanford Bemidji.

Road conditions were wet, and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted the state patrol. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
