Gov. Tim Walz appointed Jeanine Brand as the next Beltrami County judge for the Ninth Judicial District.
According to a release, Brand is filling the vacancy left by Judge Paul T. Benshoof’s retirement last Friday.
Brand is currently an Assistant Cass County Attorney, where she primarily handles prosecution of sexual assault, domestic assault, child endangerment, protective order violations and controlled substance charges.
Brand has also served with the Clearwater County Attorney’s Office, the City of Bemidji’s Attorney’s Office and in the Clay County Attorney’s Office.
Brand received her B.A. from the College of St. Benedict and her J.D. from Hamline School of Law.
