Juvenile seriously wounded in Ridgeway shooting

Bemidji Police officers are looking for a suspect involved in a shooting last night on the 2800 block of Ridgeway Avenue.

Police Captain David LaZella says officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, on report of several gunshots inside the building at 2830 Ridgeway Avenue.

Sanford Bemidji notified police that a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound had been brought to the facility by a private party.

The juvenile was unable to provide a description of the suspect.

The boy was flown to a Fargo trauma center where he remains in serious condition.

LaZella says there does not appear to be any threat to the public.

Bemidji Police Detectives continue to work with witnesses and property owners to identify suspects. Anyone with information can contact the Bemidji Police Department at (218)333-9111.
