K9 Rip joins Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office

The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office announced they have a new K9 officer team.

According to a release, K9 Rip began his service last month with Deputy Tony Hanson as his handler.

K9 Rip is a 20-month-old Belgian Malinois, a breed that makes good police service dogs because they’re smart, protective, fast, and hard-working.

Deputy Hanson and K9Rip recently graduated from their first 14-week training regimen and are certified by the National Police Canine Association in both patrol operations and narcotic detection.
