Lakeshore homeowners encouraged to check equipment for zebra mussels

Lakeshore homeowners are encouraged to check moored equipment, docks, lifts and rafts for zebra mussels as they prepare for the end of open water season.

According to a release from Beltrami County’s AIS Lakes Technician Bruce Anspach, the check should only take a few minutes to verify that the lake is free from zebra mussels and that not finding them is as important as finding them.

Findings can be reported to Bruce at (218)333-8281, with the address and lake name.
