UPDATE: Missing child found safe

UPDATED: As of 10:46 a.m., Alfred has been found safe.

The Leech Lake Tribal Police and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are requesting public assistance in locating an 8-year-old boy.

According to a release, 8-year-old Alfred Desjarlait III left the Prescott Housing area in Cass Lake around 5:30 p.m. yesterday on foot.

The Prescott Housing area is south of Highway 371.

His direction of travel and destination are unknown.

Anyone who has seen the boy, who is about 4 feet tall and wearing a black Timberland jacket, jeans and multi-colored Puma shoes, is encouraged to contact the Leech Lake Tribal Police at (218)335-8277 or call 911.
