Lino Lakes man injured in fiery, alcohol-related crash

A Lino Lakes man was treated for multiple injuries after an alcohol-related crash in Hubbard County early this month.

Sheriff Cory Aukes reports that deputies responded to Co. Rd. 3 in Lake Hattie Township and found an injured 51-year-old David John sitting on the roadway.

John was northbound when he lost control of his ’78 Bronco around a curve, crashing into a ditch where it caught on fire.

A witness said John was swerving and driving erratically.

John admitted to drinking at multiple bars, with a breath test indicating a BAC of .138.

The Bemidji Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire that spread in the ditch.

John was treated at a Bemidji hospital.

The BCA is analyzing a blood sample for further testing.
