A local artist is donating the profits of her portrait to a family in need.
Ne-Dah-Ness Rose Greene’s portrait titled “Solace” features two of the four children impacted by their parents’ serious motorcycle accident last year.
Greene is a friend to the Leech Lake family, and says the parents are still on the road to recovery.
Greene’s first public exhibit, “Mashkawiziiwag” (They are Strong), is on display at the Watermark Art Center through April 24.
The photography exhibit features photos taken last year, and include photos taken at American Indian Movement and Black Lives Matter rallies, as well as Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women demonstrations.
