Look for zebra mussels while pulling in docks and lifts from listed infested waters

Beltrami County’s Aquatic Invasive Species program is seeking help from the public as they pull in docks and lifts for the season.

According to a release, residents are encouraged to look watercraft over for evidence of zebra mussels and report their findings to Beltrami County ESD at 218-333-8321.

Not finding Zebra Mussels is just as important as finding them, and the department would like to hear about the findings either way.

In particular, residents along Carr and Marquette Lakes are encouraged to carefully look over their equipment.

These two lakes are listed as infested due to their connection to Lake Bemidji but no zebra mussels have yet been found in them.
