Traffic safety officials say the 100 days between the Memorial and Labor Day holidays are called the “Deadliest Days” and are asking Minnesotans to do their part to make this summer the safest.
Preliminary data from 2022 shows of the 444 deaths on Minnesota roads last year, 169 or 38 percent were in the summer.
Extra enforcement will be on Minnesota roads looking for unsafe behaviors like street racing.
Speed, seat belts and impairment are primary factors in fatalities on Minnesota roads.
