Masks now required at BSU, NTC

Bemidji State University and Northwest Technical College will require masks in campus buildings starting today.

The CDC COVID tracker downgraded Beltrami County’s COVID transmission level from substantial to high on Saturday.

BSU and NTC are following Minnesota State’s COVID plan for this fall, which requires mask use inside campus buildings in areas of substantial or high COVID transmission.

According to the CDC COVID tracker, there have been 49 new cases and a testing positivity of over five percent reported in the last week in Beltrami County, with six new hospital admissions for COVID.

Of the eligible, 12 and older county population, 55.6 percent have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Hubbard County is also in high transmission, with Cass and Clearwater counties in substantial COVID transmission.
