MnDOT to launch self-driving shuttle project in Grand Rapids

The Minnesota Department of Transportation will launch a pilot project featuring five automated vehicles in the City of Grand Rapids.

The partnership, which includes the City of Grand Rapids and May Mobility and other partners, is launching this project on Wednesday, October 5.

Members of the media, elected officials and the public are invited to learn more about the goMARTI project and ride one of the five self-driving shuttles.

The event will kick off at the Grand Rapids Fire Station from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

This is the first goMARTI project in rural Minnesota and is intended to give residents in the designated area a choice in transportation, a frequent barrier to people in Greater Minnesota.
