More than $1 million in funds pushed through region in first NMF quarter

Northwest Minnesota Foundation has loaned or granted more than $1 million this quarter.

According to a release, the three-month timeframe of July through September is the first quarter of NMF’s fiscal year.

More than $560,000 were raised through local philanthropic activities, nearly $330,000 of loans were made to small business owners, and more than $156,000 were distributed through NMF’s discretionary grant programs.

Areas of focus included scholarships, business loans and support, as well as programs.
