Motorcyclist killed on Paul Bunyan Drive

A motorcyclist was killed yesterday evening on Paul Bunyan Drive.

According to a release from Bemidji Police Captain David LaZella, officers responded to the 1700 block of Paul Bunyan Drive around 7 p.m. and found that a westbound 2000 Suzuki motorcycle collided with an eastbound GMC pickup.

The motorcyclist was declared dead at the Sanford Medical Center, despite lifesaving measures. The pickup driver was uninjured.

The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Bemidji Police Department with assistance from the Minnesota State Patrol.  Also assisting on scene were the Bemidji Ambulance Service, Bemidji Fire Department, Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Border Patrol.
