Name a Snowplow submissions accepted through Dec. 16

Submissions are now being accepted to name eight MnDOT snow plows in the “Name a Snow Plow” contest.

Each newly named snow plow will be spread across all eight MnDOT districts in the state.

MnDOT encourages Minnesotans to submit their most witty, unique and Minnesota- or winter-themed snowplow name ideas on the MnDOT website.

The submission form will be open through Friday, Dec. 16.

The contest includes a few basic rules, like only one entry per person, and submitted names must be 30 characters or fewer, contain no profanity or political messages, and can’t be the name of past winners.

This is the third year for the light-hearted contest, with voting by the public expected in January.

Past plow name winners in the Bemidji-area District 2 were Plow Bunyan (2020-21) and Blizzard of Oz (2021-22).
