National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week recognized in Beltrami County

April 10 through the 26 is recognized nationally as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.

Beltrami County Sheriff Chief Deputy Jarrett Walton says the office greatly appreciates and relies on dispatchers, which he describes as a highly difficult yet incredibly important job.

Dispatchers respond quickly to unexpected emergencies, playing a crucial role in the life-saving process by connecting emergency services to the people that need them.

“We are very thankful for the men and women who shoulder this responsibility and we recognize the invaluable assistance that they provide to our community,” wrote Walton in a release.
