Nevis man seriously injured in alcohol-related crash

A 50-year-old Nevis man was seriously injured in an alcohol-related crash near East Crooked Lake.

Hubbard County deputies responded to Mantrap Township on July 16 around 8:30 p.m. and found the driver, Rodney Boos, severely injured and partially in the lake.

Callers reported the vehicle had rolled and was upside down in the water.

A passenger, 30-year-old Curtis Boos of Nevis, was uninjured.

The elder Boos may have been drinking prior to the crash, with an emergency blood draw taken prior to his air transport to a Sanford Hospital in Fargo.

The investigation showed Boos was northbound on County Road 2 and approached a curve, overcorrecting and ending up rolling into the lake, ejecting Boos into the water.

The passenger was able to pull the driver to the edge of the water.

Criminal charges are pending.
