AKELEY– A Nevis woman was killed in a car versus tractor crash south of Akeley last Friday.

According to the state patrol, a Chevy Caprice was eastbound on 190th Street in White Oak Township around 11:22 in the morning when the car crested the hill, colliding with a westbound farm tractor that was pulling a haybine.

The Caprice went into the ditch and rolled over.

The 17-year-old driver was not identified, but one of the passengers, 18-year-old Anneka Davis of Nevis, was killed, and 19-year-old James Geschwill of Akeley was treated for non life threatening injuries at the Fargo hospital.

The tractor driver, 55-year-old Mark Gunkel of Akeley, was uninjured. Davis and Geschwill were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the report.
