New flood watch issued for weekend

The National Weather Service Grand Forks Office issued a new flood watch for the weekend.

Flooding conditions are expected to prolong or worsen if heavy rains move across the area.

Beltrami County Emergency Management says water continues to rise and wash out roads in the northwestern portion of Beltrami County, with many impassable roads.

Drivers are reminded to turn around if they encounter a flooded roadway. Most flooding deaths are driving-related.
