New judge in Ninth District

Governor Tim Walz appointed Jerrod Shermoen to fill a vacancy in the Ninth Judicial District.

According to a release, the Honorable Charles M. Leduc is retiring from his bench at the Koochiching County Courthouse, in International Falls. Shermoen is the attorney and president at Shermoen-Jaska Law, and handled a wide variety of litigation and administrative law matters, including personal injury, wrongful death and workers compensation cases.

Shermoen also has experience in real estate, probate, family law and criminal  matters in federal, state and tribal courts across the state.

Minnesota’s Ninth Judicial District includes seventeen counties across northwest Minnesota, including Beltrami, Cass, Clearwater and Hubbard counties.
