Newcomers and incumbents file for state and county races

A few newcomers filed as candidates for both state and county positions.

Filing is open until 5 p.m. on May 31.

In the House 2B race, DFL-endorsed Erika Bailey-Johnson filed for state representative. She is vying for the seat with the current 5A representative, Republican Matt Bliss.

Joe Gould filed for Beltrami County District 2.

Gould advanced in the 2020 primary but lost the Bemidji Ward 1 race by an 8 percent margin.

Current Beltrami County District 2 Commissioner Reed Olson filed for State Representative District 2A .

In the newly re-drawn Beltrami County District 5, John J. Carson filed for the seat.

No challengers yet to Beltrami District 1 Craig Gaasvig, District 3 Richard Anderson or District 4 Tim Sumner.
