(Crow Wing Co., MN)    Two people are dead after a crash in Crow Wing County.  Authorities there say a car and a Range Rover collided at the intersection of Excelsior Road and Highway 371 last night.  The collision sent the SUV into a ditch, over a curb and into Bills Gun Range.  Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.  (24/7 News Source)

>>MN BCA Releases More Details About Suspect Injury In Morrison County

(Pierz, MN)    The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is releasing more details about how a suspect was injured last week in Morrison County.  Investigators say Deputy Axel Lange pulled over the suspect on Friday night in Pierz Township for speeding and suspicion of impaired driving.  The suspect reportedly struggled with the deputy during his arrest and tried to reach for Lange’s gun during a five-minute scuffle.  The BCA says Lange used his knife to injure and subdue the suspect because he couldn’t reach his gun.  The suspect is still in the hospital in stable condition, while Lange has been placed on leave during the ongoing investigation. >>Governor Walz And DFL Leaders Call For Resignation Of State Senator Nicole Mitchell

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is calling for the resignation of State Senator Nicole Mitchell. Leaders of the DFL are also looking for the Woodbury lawmaker to step down. The moves came after Mitchell was formally charged with burglary for allegedly breaking into her stepmother’s Detroit Lakes home late last month. A few days later, Republican members of the state Senate filed an ethics complaint against Mitchell. Shortly after, the legislator was removed from committees and caucus meetings. Mitchell’s next court date is set for June 10th.

>>Diesel Spill Reported Near Lake Superior’s Silver Bay Marina

(Silver Bay, MN)    Crews are working to contain and clean up a diesel spill in Lake Superior.  The spill was reported yesterday morning near Silver Bay Marina.  The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency says 75 to 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled into the lake.  The agency said the spill was nearly contained last night and that it is working with the U.S. Coast Guard to determine if any damage has been done to the coastline. >>Applications For MN E-Bike Rebates To Open Next Week

(St. Paul, MN)    Minnesotans will be able to apply for rebates on electric bikes starting next week.  Applications for the rebate will open next Wednesday at 11 a.m.  A maximum of ten-thousand applications will be accepted, and the state will issue the first group of rebates on July 1st.  Rebates of up to 15-hundred dollars are available through the program.  More information is available on the Minnesota Department of Revenue website. (Duluth, MN)    Minnesota Democrats will gather in Duluth this weekend to plan their strategy for this November’s election.  The DFL convention will start tomorrow at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center.  The party will endorse candidates, finalize their platform and nominate delegates to the upcoming Democratic National Convention in Chicago.  Topics on the agenda will likely include the ongoing conflict in Gaza and claims by Republicans that former President Donald Trump could win Minnesota this fall. (Minneapolis, MN) — Delta workers at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport are on the verge of forming a union for the first time, with ramp and cargo agents leading the charge. Despite Delta’s efforts to thwart the unionization, workers are determined to push through. The agents, who have attempted to unionize three times since the Delta-Northwest merger in 2008, are now collaborating with other unions for support.
