No injuries reported in Walmart gas leak

The Bemidji Fire Department responded to a gas leak at the Bemidji Walmart Tuesday afternoon.

The leak was reported in the main entrance just before 1 p.m. All customers and employees were evacuated safely, with no injuries reported. Nine firefighters were on scene for about one hour.

The store was closed for about five hours.

Minnesota Energy Resources staff were able to quickly shut down gas flow to the store.

The Bemidji Police Department and Bemidji Ambulance also responded to the scene.
