Nominations accepted for “Someone Special” volunteer program

The United Way of Bemidji Area’s  31st Annual Someone Special Volunteer Program is now accepting nominations to recognize local volunteers.

The program partnership of the United Way of Bemidji area with Ken K. Thompson Jewelry, KB101, and the Bemidji Pioneer.

The program offers Bemidji area’s community organizations and businesses a complimentary way to recognize and show their appreciation for up to two volunteers who have contributed their time and talents to the betterment of the organization.

These volunteers will be recognized with a plaque from Ken K. Thompson’s, on-air accolades on the KB101 Morning Show with Todd Haugen and this author, an acknowledgment in the Bemidji Pioneer’s printed weekend newspaper, as well as recognition in various online formats from the United Way.

Over the past 30 years, more than 500 local volunteers have been recognized in this program.

The recognition form can be downloaded online and must be submitted by Monday, May 24.
