Officer involved shooting investigation underway in Becker County

FRAZEE– The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is investigating an officer-involved shooting in Becker County.

According to a release from the Becker County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement responded to a welfare check of a possible suicidal male north of Frazee, who may have attempted a drug overdose.

The subject would not follow law enforcement commands to exit the home, and after 45 minutes, law enforcement made entry. At one point during the encounter, deputies discharged Tasers and a firearm, injuring the subject.

He was airlifted to a Fargo Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

One deputy was injured in the incident, treated at the Detroit Lakes hospital and released.
