PARK RAPIDS– A Park Rapids man is in custody after setting his ex-girlfriend’s house on fire in Arago Township last week.

According to a release from the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance last Tuesday evening.

The man allegedly attempted to stab his ex-girlfriend with a knife, and refused to cooperate with deputies after she escaped. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded due to firearms being in the residence, but the suspect was seen walking throughout the house setting things on fire.

The home suffered extensive damage, and the man is in custody with multiple felony charges pending.
