Parks and Rec to hold Town Hall on draft strategic plan

The Bemidji Parks and Recreation Department will hold a Town Hall next week.

According to a release, community members are invited to learn more about the draft Equity-Based Parks and Trails Strategic System Plan.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 5-7 p.m. at the shelter of the City Park Building, as well as online.

The formal program will be presented at 5:30 with snacks and door prizes available for all who attend.

Parks and Rec Director Marcia Larson said a survey conducted last spring collected information about what a large swath of the community wanted in their recreation system, and the draft plan through the work of the Parks and Recreation Commission is based on that.

The Department’s strategic system plan was last updated in 2011.
